Shadow Syndicate defeats Epidemic – 6/24/02 – Submitted by FlyMolo
Treasure took so long to write this, and put it in the Epidemic Private Forums, but I figured it might as well go here 🙂

The game starts with an Epidemic JT Rush tactic, while SS chooses the standard Lineup of Infantry, Heavies, and a Squad Leader. The multiple JTs for Epi give them an early flag advantage (4-3). SS (picking Titan Militia as their team) hoped to deny Epi their usual base of J4. Epi settled for H4 instead. SS started their attacks quickly, but with little affect. Once the Epi defense composed themselves, they began their own attack. The Epidemic JTs easily tore through the SS defense, making it to the turrets on the first attack. This caught SS off gaurd, causing them to swing back some of their offense to compensate for the JTs. The Epidemic Squad Leader Mar quickly summoned the JTs back to the frontline, and the attack began again. Back at H4, the SS Squad Leader Slipstream was busy summoning his own troops to battle. His job was quite difficult due to the fact that the Epidemic JTs constantly caused SS to re-adjust its defense. The push at H4 wasn’t getting too far due to the lack of offensive players for SS.
After only 3 attacks, the Epidemic offense reached the flag room yet again, this time with Treasure getting 3 flags. With FlyMolo’s killing of NineOneOne (the SS medic), the flag room was left without any teleport disruption. The Epidemic JTs had successfully fragged the D7 Sentry, and Treasure was summoned home as the message Victory for Epi in 90 seconds lit up the screen.
H4 was quite the scene with 19 people caught in it. That’s 23 different guns going off at the same time (if you count the turrets). During the commotion, one of the Epidemic players, Rurouken was subbed out, for a defensive heavy, Balloon. Despite the help, it was still leaving JTs such as Treasure, FlyMolo, and HeavenlyKnight to use GL to push back SS, and to DPB the attackers. Slipstream was literally the only one not included in the cave battle, as he was busy summoning his team to the Epidemic base. SS was able to abort a few times, and had it not been for Bombadil’s MML, the flags would have made it out. After a few aborts, SS ran over H4 and captured all the flags. Now it was Epidemic’s turn to scramble.
5 flags (carried by multiple carriers) made their way to J4. (How ironic for Epidemic…) Frog Lip (2 flags) made his way to E8. While Mar and Black 2 hurried to E8, the rest of Epidemic made its way to J4. Frog Lip was summoned to J4, and the Epi offense proceeded to attach as well. Thus the attack begins. The SS engineer Decker succeeded in defending the flags with his gravitron, causing the Epi JTs to be bounced back from the entrance of J4. With 10 seconds left, a last rush was made for the flags. The gravitron, combined with the SS defensive commies expertly allowed no one to infiltrate the neck of J4. SS takes the win in 12 minutes.
