[Disclaimer: I missed the first three minutes of the match]
It’s time to go to war!
Assuming they’ve just recovered from the first battle, Allegiance heads south through the rocks at I3 then west before the ridges. At F4 they head north. With 7 kills it’s apparent they’ve taken out every single member of OON.
Enemy sighted at F4, Metal falls to Joe right away. Backpedaling through the barricades at H3, Emp, Fuck, Axidus and Sniper attempt to fend off Allegiance.
:42 – Ignoring the rules of the Ghostbusters, Sabotage and gary cross the streams and by streams, I mean LAWs. Fuck and Sniper explode into cherry pie on the pavement
Before their blood can even disappear Allegiance marches through it in pursuit of Emp and Axidus, but decide to focus on Emp who runs through the G3 building.
OON regroup and head south through the J3 ridges and continue west into F3.
Allegiance idles around E5 deciding which angles they want to take.
2:33 – Sniper complains about Allegiance medic Assassin lagging and threatens to appeal. It’s unclear whether an official spec’d him or he spec’d himself, but regardless of the fact, Ice is subbed in.
Metal leads OON down C6 to the Allegiance base. Breaking away from his squad, Metal heads way South below the garage at D8 while his teammates commence battle more north.
Allegiance charges through Sniper, Axidus and s.f. without losing any numbers then continue toward the OON base with only one medic.
At the I4 rocks we have action. Metal is first to fall then Allegiance loses K to a LAW by RyaN. Like a game of hot potato the grenades fly, but surprisingly no one is taken out. With his back against the enemy Riley is taken out by RyaN.
Riley switches to medic and brings Allegiance back up to two.
[Mean while in spec]
Champion – Riley rent med
Demon – riley changed
Apollo – could prob win with no meds tbh
G6 battles begins another clinic at the expense of OON. Lurking as usual, Sniper is constantly hitting K with snipes, but is unable to finish the job.
10 minute score check – Allegiance up 22-4
The battle spills into the I3 rocks and with OON taking hits from the south, they temporarily forget about their six and they pay for it.
8:28 – Fuck and Metal have their innards become out-ards thanks to a LAW by Ice
After sweeping up OON, Allegiance head west to F3 and Sniper finally kills K at F5 leaving lyric and Ice without a medic while taking on Metal, Axidus and Fuck. Axidus is able to take out Ice before meeting his doom.
Bringing a knife to a gunfight Riley takes out lone survivor Emp with his shank.
Once again battles descends upon I3. Allegiance members Joe, lyric, gary and K are lured out by Metal and s.f., which leaves them in Axidus’ sight.
12:22 – gary catches a LAW
At this point its complete chaos with both squads sandwiched in between each other and bullets going in all directions. Nades are flying and people are dying on both sides, but Allegiance manages to come out on top yet again.
OON regroup and jump right back into battle at I4. Like a scene out of West Side Story the knives are out! Fuck takes out Ice then Riley immediately avenges him with a few slices of his own.
14:45 – babble has been substituted for Sniper
The battle consistently stays at I4 with OON members being taken down, but soon return because their base is close by.
15:55 – Sniper has been substituted for Metal.
20 minute score check – Allegiance up 58-19
OON is picked off, but not before taking two members of Allegiance with them
18:00 – Metal has been substituted for Axidus
For the first time in the match there is a moment of peace.
18:40 – Ice has been substituted for absoloute zero
20:58 – After being sniped by Backs yet again, K is substituted for Assassin.
Allegiance regroups at E6 while OON come through the ridges at I6. At G6 RyaN and babble separate from the group and head south below the mountain.
21:45 – lyric has been substituted for TACOstand
With only five minutes left in the match things heat up at the F7 rocks.
In a matter of seconds babble falls to gary, Sniper snipes absoloute zero and Joe throws a grenade that lands perfectly on the head of s.f.
Like in previous battles, Allegiance cleans up OON and F7 is clear.
Less than a minute later we’ve got battle at G6 and with greater numbers, Allegiance push up the street through G4 kicking ass a long the way.
TACOstand and riley choose to chase Sniper up the rocks at E2, which is probably just to waste time. Feeling like they chased him far enough, they return to F3 and help their squad fire on OON. But Sniper, always with someone in his crosshair finds a victim in Riley. Losing his medic, Metal calls for a push over the top, which is successful.
With 1:35 left in the match E5 is where the final battle takes place. OON do a great job at saving their numbers here and give themselves a few kills. Good heals from their medic keep them alive just long enough to take their enemy down.
Fuck is the lone survivor and is able to run to his safety and be saved by the dwindling clock.
Final death honors go to s.f.
Victory goes to Allegiance.
Ranks
First – Sabotage 21-5
Second – Joe 15-3
Third – gary 14-5
MVP – Sabotage
Post match interviews
Riley
Abbath – You guys ran away with this one. Was there any concern going into this match?
Riley – We felt good with our odds in this one so long as we could dictate the pace and positioning. The biggest concern for us was that with real life being that it is, we had not played a match or SB since our week 2 match versus USL Hotline.
I think one of the big things for us going into our next match is we are going to need to clean up our play a lot compared to tonight. We all, myself included, had deaths that in our next match we simply cannot have if we hope to be competitive.
Abbath – OON was very aggressive tonight in relation to previous matches. Do you think the made it easier for you to pick them off?
Riley – I think OON probably felt they were a little more evenly matched in this one. Being it was played on KR they were trying to establish positions that Backs (Sniper) was able to take advantage of long range open field. We were just trying to put them in positions that limited the impact he could provide his team, the counter product was they had to break through to gain that positioning and we did a good job of limiting the success they had establishing those positions.
Metal
Abbath – In your match tonight OON played really aggressive and it seem to have worked against you guys. Was your main goal to constantly be pushing Allegiance?
Metal – As a player new to leading, I lean on aggression as a crutch, until I learn to micromanage my teams better and create angles. I would rather engage an opponent in battle constantly, then react and improve from there. If we aren’t winning evenly-matched firefights, then elaborate leading won’t work either.
Abbath – You in particular continuously found yourself a lone in battle white a few times. Do you think you were being too aggressive or did you expect others to stay grouped with you?
Metal – This was my second game leading in USL, my first was last week against Infinite. I did seem to lose myself in talking a few times and found myself alone, shooting stuff that I hadn’t let my team catch up to. Just comes down to keeping that focus and multi-tasking better
This was my second game leading in USL, my first was last week against. I will take this loss and learn from it.
Abbath – Backs was getting quite a few kills, but was temporarily spec’d before being put back in. What was the thought process on this one?
Metal – Just a standard 15 minute substitution to spread play time. The game wasn’t very close at this point, so subbing him for a marine was simply for a change of pace, not performance-based. I also subbed myself. Subs didn’t stick, as the refs informed me that I couldn’t sub out squadjoined players while we had NT’s playing.
And yes, 2 players logged in during the match, after we had nt’s, that’s why the sub confusion.
