Pre-game was filled with squad chat spamming and plenty of GG grenade throwing by Evolve, while the refs attempted to sort out the chaos.
Faith in DW wasn’t exactly high:
Putaz> I hope these guys last longer than 3 minutes
Reporter_piccolosan> ok i am guessing a 5 minute match
You could say that DW was the underdog in this particular bout.

At the point were all early flags were out, SS lost a player – twice.
At this point, DW attempted to capitalize on this and launched an offensive on the SS D6 base, 4 vs 5 (in DW’s favor). SS’s defense waned down to 3 vs 6 as SS mounted a counter attack on the A7 DW base. Both offensives were thwarted, and the flags remained 5 SS 2 DW. DW did manage to get almost into the SS turrets, but were routed by SS’s attaching defense. SS immediately launched another attack on the DW base, 2 heavies and 4 infantry. This was a combo stub/ac attack with the
Infs tanking, and they were making progress until Thrilla mounted a 2 man flank which almost scattered the SS offense. SS kept the ranks high with constant reattaching, but the DW defense managed to overrun them. At this point,
flags are still 5 SS 2 DW, but the momentum was definitely for SS as Slipstream was ever present right outside the DW base to renew the attack. SS rallied once again and then went in like Michael Jackson on a monkey, removing the DW turrets. DW recovered in time to take back their A7 real estate. Once again, Slipstream rallied the troops and the offense was up and running again. Having as much grace time as they did, DW never managed to get their turrets got their turrets running fully again, and SS soon found themselves in the flag room. Frog lip and Evolve took the front, clearing the remaining DW defense, Traxx grabbed the last two flags. The game was now on SS’s homeland. DW started to push in, but Evolve led
a flank which slaughtered DW. DW did manage an abort, and came for a second pass. This time, the fight started at E2 outside the SS home base. SS lost this battle due to numbers, but it immediately came back as a slipstream summoned a flank. Once again, the flank shredded DW like nothing. Game over at 12 minutes by flag for SS. MVP = Razor. Most elite reporter = Launchpad.
Despite some apparent turtling by DW, not too horrible a game.
