Aoi vs Darkslayers

DS vs. Aoi

March 18 [Dank]

Hey, look, I was assigned to write a summary of this thing without

knowing! Cool! Anyway…

Game 1:

DS won the coin toss and chose to be the Collective Military. Aoi took

the Titan Militia. Surprisingly enough, DS chose to use the (IMO)

nerfed G4 base. Aoi set themselves up in, also surprisingly, E6. If I

remember correctly, both teams got themselves two flags to start off

with. This game was pretty hectic, with very nice offense and

defense played by both sides… indicative of the type of play to come

in the next two games. I don’t remember the details of what

happened, but it is sufficient to say that after both sides lost their

bases a few times, DS managed to grab all four flags and hold A7 for

90 seconds for the win. Game 1 ended with 1:30 left on the timer.

Game 2:

Both squads switched teams. This time they elected to use the more

standard bases, resulting in an A7 vs. D7 to start off with. Game 2

was more of the same as Game 1. Great play from both sides. Lots of

scrambling from the flaggers of both teams. Plenty of death-bug

flagging, resulting in a few rushes to the caves to pick up the

unowned. At the end, Aoi got all 4 flags and held them for 90 seconds

to get the win and tie up the match.

Game 3:

Once again, both squads switched teams. A7 vs. D7 again.

Surprisingly, Aoi managed to grab three flags in the beginning. One

well-hidden roamer (it was in the top right of the caves) proved to be

an elusive object for both teams. Eventually, Aoi got the fourth and

final flag and rushed it home to try for the win. However, DS ran over

Aoi’s hastily assembled, commando-led defense, and took three flags.

Aoi retained brought their one flag to E7. After the cleanest base vs.

base fight in the match yet, Aoi managed to grab all of the flags and

hold DS out of E7 for the victory.

Summary: I’d say that DS and Aoi are VERY evenly matched. The

results could have gone either way. Ooi and Aoi showed some

interesting subbing tactics with their commandos. Both squads

showed 20 people. The “nerfing” of the death bug, which disallows

any flag in the dropship, eliminated the chance of what is, in my

opinion, a luck win, by disallowing the threat of a dead enemy to kill a

flagger and bring it back safely to base once spawned. All in all, a

great match.
